URGENT NEWS
Disney
is planning to CLOSE the Adventurers Club.
Do your part NOW to help save this one-of-a-kind establishment!
Horizons.
Journey Into Imagination. River Country. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
All unique and treasured elements of Walt Disney World.
Now, another part of Disney history is about to become, well, history.
Disney has announced that it will permanently close all of the clubs on
Pleasure Island, including the Adventurers Club, on September 27. The
company claims the move is part of a "bold new vision" for Downtown
Disney. What "bold" and "new" things are on the way?
A T-shirt shop and a hot air balloon.
Tell Disney to stop destroying the very things that make Walt Disney World
worth traveling to in the first place. Tell them to spare the Adventurers
Club, either by keeping it in place, or by moving it to another location,
such as the Animal Kingdom.
Make your voice heard by signing the petition at the link below, and
more importantly, by mailing letters to the Disney executives at the
addresses below.
Thank you and Kungaloosh. Continue scrolling down for the latest Virtual
Toad updates.

Virtual
Toad Update: July 7, 2008 Still Working on It
For
those of you who check in regularly, waiting for this project to show
some small signs of life, thank you for your patience.
2008 has been a hectic year (aren't they all?), but I am still working
on Virtual Toad, at least as much as my schedule permits.
Right now, I'm working my way through the various objects in the Gypsy
scene. I'll be honest, this was never one of my favorite rooms. However,
there are a ton of details in this scene, and I'm looking forward to tackling
as many of them as I can as quickly as I can.
There aren't any new pictures or video clips to show you yet, but as usual,
you can learn more about the project by clicking on the various menu bar
items at the top of the page. Be sure to check out the latest pictures
and video clips, and don't miss the QuickTime
VR walking tour, where you can see the very latest work in
progress. Thank you as always for visiting-- and enjoy your tour of Virtual
Toad.

"Virtual
Toad" is an independent research project which exists for the purposes
of personal education and historical preservation. This site is not affiliated
with the Walt Disney Company in any way.
